This 16 hour course consists of theoretical and practical instruction. History and development of Ayurvedic Head Massage is covered and anatomy of the shoulders, neck, head and face is learned. Practical sessions throughout the 16 hour course consist of massage of the shoulders, massage of the upper back and arms, massage of the neck, massage of the head, and massage of the face and ears. Contra-indications are covered, and thorough knowledge of the marmas (pressure points) is learned. The bones of the spine, clavicle, scapula, humerus, occipital bone, temporal bones, and skull are discussed as well as the circulatory and nervous systems.
Knowledge of Chakras is taught, with special reference
to the top four chakras which are worked in Indian Head Massage. Meditating on and
Balancing the Chakras is also covered. Oils for massage are discussed.
You will learn how to complete an ayurvedic massage on a fully clothed client on a chair, plus you will learn
how to complete an ayurvedic massage on a massage table.
In order to certify as an Ayurvedic Head
Massage Therapist, 30 case studies are to be done (5 case study summaries to be provided to the
Instructor), anatomy of the head and neck homework to be completed, and a practical and theoretical exam to be
passed at 80% or more. Practical exam consists of successfully conducting a complete
treatment on a tester, either on a chair or on a massage table.
This equates to a 100 hour certificate course in Ayurvedic Head Massage and includes a 100 page instruction
manual, along with expert teaching of Ayurvedic Head Massage techniques.

The Holistic Foot Reflexology accredited course is offered through the School of
Complementary Therapies and consists of 30 hours of classroom time (4 full days),
plus 60 case studies, followed by a practical and written exam. Thirty hours of group
instruction is the basis of this course. We begin with an
introduction to the theories and history of reflexology and learn techniques to relax
and warm-up the feet. Then we examine basic human anatomy and physiology, and how this
relates to the reflex areas on the feet. You will learn the pressure techniques of
reflexology and how to apply the Fairbrass Reflexology Routine. Each student has the
opportunity to experience reflexology as both receiver and therapist. It is easy to
learn, with plenty of visual and audio aids, demonstrations, and hands-on practice.
To receive certification you will be required to complete and document a 60 treatment
practicum with case studies, complete the Workbook and pass both written and practical
examinations.
This professionally
recognized 200 hour certificate course in Holistic Foot Reflexology includes an instruction
manual, detailed work/study manuals, textbook, "step-by-step audio guide to reflexology",
along with expert teaching of foot reflexology techniques.
Learning Foot Reflexology can complement other therapies or be a first step in a new career
path. Successful completion of this course allows membership to the Reflexology Registration
Council of Ontario, the Academy of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists and other professional organizations.

Reflexology is a natural healing art,
based on

are reflexes on the head, hands and feet, that relate to all parts of
the body. One of many forms of complimentary medicine, it is
extremely valuable for treating the whole of the body. This
introductory course shows you the major reflex points in the
feet. Students will be taught to treat each other (so come with
clean feet
and a towel!). Reflexology helps the body heal itself by correcting
any imbalances that can occur through illness, accident, disease or
even lifestyle, correcting and maintaining the body’s natural
equilibrium by restoring critical energy pathways that flow through the
body.

In this introductory course, you will be taught
how to use a pendulum to dowse for a variety of information, e.g.
personal, spiritual guidance,
locating water or even lost items. We will look at how to correctly
phrase the question and how to “program” the pendulum. Pendulums will
be on sale during the course so students may get a feel for the type
they prefer. You may
bring your own pendulum to the
workshop or even just a ring on a chain. The course will also touch on
other instruments used for dowsing, such as L-rods and Y-rods.

Chakra (pronounced sha-kra) is the Sanskrit
word for “wheel”. Chakras are like spirals of energy, each one relating
to the others. There are seven major centers (chakras) in the body, and
many minor ones. This course introduces you to the location and colour
of these chakras, as well as the areas in the body they govern. If you
can imagine the main chakras as a set of cogs or wheels, they are
rather like the workings of a clock or an engine; each cog or wheel
needs to move smoothly and at a similar speed for the clock or engine
to work properly. Good health and well being is achieved by a balance
of all these energies (or the smooth running of the cogs and wheels).
